Open Records

New Open Record Rules
On January 1, 2009, Pennsylvania's new open record rules went into effect. The bottom line of this new law is that there is a presumption that any requested document is public and should be released. The law also created a new office, the Office of Open Records which is charged with enforcing the Right to Know Law. Individuals interested in more information should view the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section of the Office's website. You can also Click Here to view a copy of the Right to Know Legislation.

Black Creek's Implementation
To make an open records request, simply print out the standard right to know request form below. Any US citizen can make an open records request. If the requester seeks copies of open records, Black Creek Township will charge $0.25 per page. There are exceptions to this which might result in higher fees. If the township must send documents out to be copied (such as over-sized documents) then the charge can be set to equal the cost that was paid by the township.
